Thirty years, from competitor to coach
Trained at the highest level
Jelena spent her competitive years building a foundation in technique, musicality and performance, working with top international coaches and competing where the standard leaves no room for shortcuts. That is where the eye for detail comes from: at that level, placements are decided by things most people never notice.
Titles that took years, not luck
World Cup Champion, 14-time National Champion and International Winner. Competitive results matter to students for one practical reason: a coach who has been judged thousands of times knows exactly which habits hold a dancer back, and can name them in the first lesson instead of the tenth.
Recognized as a teacher, not only a dancer
Being a great dancer and being a great teacher are different skills, and plenty of champions never make the second one. Jelena has been recognized as a Top Female Teacher in the United States for nine consecutive years, which is a judgment on how students progress, not on how she performs.
Teaching in Dallas, TX
Today that experience goes into lessons for people who mostly have no intention of competing: couples preparing a first dance, adults who want to feel comfortable at a party, parents enrolling a child, and a smaller group of competitors preparing for the floor. The same standard of technique, applied to whatever you actually want from it.
Lessons are taught by Jelena herself, not passed to whoever is free that evening. Your plan carries from one lesson to the next because the same person built it.
Learning a sequence of steps gets you through one song. Learning posture, timing and connection lets you dance with any partner, to any music, long after the routine is forgotten.
You get a straight answer about how many lessons your goal needs, including when the answer is fewer than you expected. That is how students stay for years instead of weeks.
