Bright, crisp and full of rhythm. The second dance in our beginner Latin group classes.
30–32 bars per minute (120–128 BPM)

Cha cha is bright and crisp. It shares the Cuban motion of rumba but adds a quick triple step, the cha-cha-cha that gives the dance its name. Once you have the rumba basic, cha cha is the natural next step, which is why the two are taught side by side.
Cha cha is the second dance in our beginner Latin group classes on Preston Road in Dallas. One class is $25, both Rumba and Cha Cha together are $30. You do not need a partner.
In private lessons we go further into leg action, timing variations and routines. Cha cha is also one of the standard Latin dances in DanceSport competition, so private coaching is where competitors refine it.
Most students can dance a short cha cha sequence after three or four classes. It is a common choice for an upbeat wedding entrance or a second song after the first dance.
Weddings and receptions, galas, social dance nights, cruises and family celebrations. Every style we teach is chosen because you will actually hear the music and have a chance to dance it.
Posture and frame, timing with the music, lead and follow, and a short sequence you can repeat with confidence. Lessons are built around your goals, your schedule and your level.
