Everything couples ask before their first dance: how many lessons you need, what it costs, when to start and what to wear.

Most couples who come to us have never taken a dance lesson. They have a song, a date and a mix of excitement and nerves about dancing in front of everyone they know. The guides in this section answer the questions we hear most often before couples book, so you can plan with real numbers instead of guesses.
Your song decides the dance. Songs in three are usually danced as a waltz. Slow songs in four work as a foxtrot or rumba, and faster songs as swing. If you are not sure what your song is, bring it to the first lesson and we will tell you in a minute.
Start two to three months before the wedding. Plan on four to six private lessons for a simple, confident first dance and more for a choreographed routine. Practice a little at home between lessons, and do at least one lesson in your wedding shoes.
